Mixed Metal Oxide Anode
Mixed metal oxide anode is composed of titanium substrate (ASTMB265, first grade titanium) and a layer of metal oxides (Ru, Ir, Ti metal oxide) with electro catalytic activity covered on the titanium substrate. The oxide coating polarization is small and the consumption rate is very low. By adjusting the composition of the oxide layer, the oxide layer can be adapted to different environments such as sea water, fresh water, soil medium. As the mixed metal oxide anode has the advantages than other anodes do not have, it has become the most ideal and the most promising auxiliary anode material.

Application
In sea water, the main anode product is Cl2; In soil, fresh water, brackish water, sea water, the main anode product is O2 or Cl2 or both two.

Metal oxide anode has a variety of shapes such as linear, rod, tube, strip, disc and mesh. It is selected according to actual use.
1. Tubular Mixed Metal Oxide Anode
The Applications of MMO Anode
The main body is coated with mixed metal oxide IO2/ tantalum oxide Ta2O5 Ti-based anode; the working life and rated current of anode is determined by the anode body. MMO main anode must be titanium base, no using of copper core material, that is to say, the mixed metal oxides must be coated on the titanium substrate instead of coating on the surface of the copper core.
The anode body is composed of a continuous titanium matrix whose coatings are adaptable to high heat environment and the Iridium/tantalum metal oxide mixture that has stable crystal structure, catalytic properties and good electrical conductivity.
MMO(Mixed Metal Oxide) tubular anode is applicable to many environment such as in soil, fresh water, saline water and sea water. This anode is currently the most promising products for the replacement of high silicon cast iron anode in the cathodic protection of pipe shallow buried anodes and deep well anode. It has the features of low weight, long service life and high cost performance.
2. Reticular Mixed Metal Oxide Anode
An anode that has the features of long service life and high efficiency. Due to the excellent performance, the anode is more and more widely used in the cathodic protection of steel structure especially for the cathodic protection of reinforced concrete.
3. Rod Type Mixed Metal Oxide Anode
Metal oxide anode has excellent physical, chemical and electrochemical properties. Due to the use of titanium as the substrate, this anode is easy to be processed into a variety of desired shapes. And the light weight makes it more convenient for the transportation and installation. Due to the electrode surface being covered by the oxide layer with high catalytic activity, the potential of the titanium substrate exposed on the surface of some defects is typically not more than 2V. Therefore, the titanium substrate does not produce surface passivation film breakdown. The resistivity of the oxide coating is 10-7¦¸.m. Highly resistant to acidic environments, with small polarization and very low consumption rate and by adjusting the composition of the oxide layer, it can be adapted to different environments such as sea water, fresh water and soil medium.
4. Ribbon Type Mixed Metal Oxide Anode
Ribbon type mixed silicon metal oxide anode and titanium conductive sheet are crossly welded and forms anode network. Used as the auxiliary anode in the net anode cathodic protection system, it is widely used for the cathodic protection of newly buit tank bottom plate.
